Fifth Third Bank Arts Night Out - Grandma Moses: An American Primitive
In conjunction with the special exhibition American Sampler: Grandma Moses and the Handicraft Tradition. This revival of the popular stage play chronicles the life of America’s best-known folk artist. It follows Moses as a child, a young woman, a middle-aged widow, and a 100-year-old international celebrity. The show is produced by the Old Castle Theatre Company of Bennington, Vermont. Performance times are 8 p.m. on December 3-4 and 2 p.m. on December 5-6.
The Fifth Third Bank Arts Night Out series began in the fall of 2012 as a theatrical series that brings visual art and the stage together for three one-of-a-kind performances in the museum’s beautiful Renaissance Auditorium. The 2015 season features the nostalgic singing trio Ladies for Liberty, renowned artist Béatrice Coron and a revival of the popular stage play Grandma Moses: An American Primitive by Oldcastle Theatre Company.
