Bye Bye Birdie

Bye Bye Birdie is a 1961 Tony winning musical by Irving Brecher, with music by Charles Strouse and lyrics by Lee Adams and adapted from Michael Stewart's book. The stage play and book were then adapted to a 1963 film starring Dick Van Dyke, Janet Leigh, Jesse Pearson and Anne Margret.

Conrad Birdie, the Rock n Roll heart throb of teen girls everywhere has been drafted into the Army. Albert Peterson has written a song, “One Last Kiss”, for Conrad to perform on the Ed Sullivan show before reporting for duty and one lucky girl will get to receive that kiss, but will he get to perform it? Crazy teenage fans, jealous boyfriends and a toe tapping collection of hits including “Put on a Happy Face” , “Honestly Sincere” and the title number “Bye Bye Birdie” will leave the audience flying high.

Friday and Saturday shows begin at 7 p.m., while Sundays feature a 2 p.m. matinee. Tickets are $9 for students/seniors and $11 for general admission. For more information, visit cpamburg.com, email info@cpamburg.com or call (937) 867-0353.
