Stivers School for the Arts Summer Dance Intensive

BALLET • MODERN • HIP HOP • CHOREOGRAPHY
JOIN US FOR 2 WEEKS TO EXPLORE DIFFERENT TYPES OF DANCE, IMPROVISATION, BODY CONDITIONING AND LEARN NEW TECHNICAL SKILLS. DON'T MISS THIS OPPORTUNITY TO STUDY WITH THE AWARD-WINNING STAFF OF STIVERS SCHOOL FOR THE ARTS AND PROFESSIONAL CHOREOGRAPHERS FROM AROUND THE WORLD.
All levels, grades 3 - 12 will participate in a full day or half day (mornings only) session. Teachers from around the world will work with dancers to create new works to be performed.
DANCE LEVEL A: Beginner
Do you like to dance? Join us for 2 weeks to explore different types of dance and improve your technical skills. You will participate in daily ballet and modern dance classes, body conditioning, and additional classes in hip hop and choreography.
DANCE LEVEL B: Intermediate
Are you becoming a serious dancer with experience? Join us for a pre-professional dance training program at an intermediate level. Enhance your technical skills and participate in process-oriented work that explores a variety of dance techniques. You will participate in daily ballet and modern dance classes, body conditioning, and additional classes in hip hop and choreography.
DANCE LEVEL C: Advanced
Are you a serious dancer with experience? Join us for an intense pre-professional dance training program. Advance your technical skills and participate in process-oriented work that explores a variety of dance techniques. You will participate in a daily ballet and modern dance classes, body conditioning, and additional classes in hip hop and choreography.
DANCE LEVEL D: Multiple Level
Tailor made curriculum for the dancers with split-level technique.
All Levels: Choreographers from around the world will work with you to create a new work to be performed at the end of the session.
DANCE PLACEMENT
All dancers are required to take a mandatory class on Friday, June 12 at 9:00 a.m. for proper placement prior to the intensive. Master adjudicators are proficient and desire elite and appropriate training for each dance student to ensure a positive and progressive experience.
DRESS REQUIREMENTS FOR ALL CLASSES
Ladies should wear a leotard and convertible (split sole) pink or tan tights, and ballet slippers. After lunch classes, dancers may wear black tights. Hair will need to be pulled up off of the neck and in a secure bun. Gentleman should wear black dance pants or tights and black tank top or white t-shirt and black or white ballet slippers. All jewelry must be removed. Absolutely no gum.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS: If you are enrolling in a full day session, you will need to bring a packed lunch. Pizza and nutritional snacks will be available for purchase.

TUITION
The tuition is based upon the school district where the student lives:
RESIDENCE OF DAYTON PUBLIC SCHOOL DISTRICT:
TOTAL FOR 2 weeks: $225 for full day sessions, $175 for half day sessions
NON-DAYTON PUBLIC STUDENTS:
TOTAL FOR 2 weeks: $300 for full day sessions, $250 for half day sessions
Full Day Sessions: 9:00 am - 2:30 pm Half day sessions: 9:00 am - 11:30 am
NO SCHOLARSHIPS AVAILABLE
TO REGISTER AND PAY
Please visit www.stivers.org. Click on the links to print the registration form, emergency medical form(s) and the authorization form, and mail it along with your check or money order, made payable to the seedling foundation, to 1313 East Fifth Street, attention: Tina Lakin, Dayton, Ohio 45402. You may also register in person by coming to Stivers School for the Arts at the address above between the hours of 8 am – 3 pm, Mon. – Fri. Payments accepted are credit card, cash, check or money order. There will be a $3 processing fee for credit card payments. There will be a $35 fee for returned checks. Deadline for registration is Friday, June 12.
Please note: If your child has medications to be administered during session hours, please note that these medical forms must be completed by a physician. We will not have access to current emergency medical forms that are on file.
