Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Greater Miami Valley Receives National Award
Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Greater Miami Valley (BBBSGMV) received the Agency of the Year Award from the national Big Brothers Big Sisters organization. BBBSGMV was selected as one of three agencies for this honor, specifically receiving the Small Agency of the Year award out of more than 200 agencies in that category. BBBSGMV was presented with the award at last night’s Gala Dinner at the Big Brothers Big Sisters National Conference in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
The award recognizes Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Greater Miami Valley’s dedication to quality programming, board leadership, financial management, strategic visioning, and successful relationships with community partners and donors. Over the past five years, the agency has had more than 100 percent revenue growth and increased children served by more than 40 percent.
In receiving the award last night in front of 500 BBBS national staff and agency representatives, BBBSGMV CEO Joe Radelet remarked, “I recognize and thank our agency’s aspiring young people, our loving volunteers, our talented staff, our visionary board, and all of you who belong to the organization that gave birth to the mentoring movement for the nation and the world…We march on!”
Also present to receive the Award were immediate Past Board Chair Matt DiCicco from Freund, Freeze & Arnold, several of the agency’s outstanding staff members, Joe Radelet’s second of three Little Brothers Aaron, and incoming CEO Anne Pfeiffer.
