Newly Re-Opened Amenities in Your MetroParks
The Five Rivers Fountain of Lights – one of the world’s largest fountains – at RiverScape MetroPark opened Friday, June 12. Select restrooms, playgrounds, nature play areas and campsites have re-opened in your MetroParks as of June 10. Details are below to help you plan your visit to Five Rivers MetroParks parks and trails, all of which are open.

RESTROOMS
- Carriage Hill MetroPark (2 open restrooms): farm and Cedar Lake parking lot
- Cox Arboretum MetroPark (2): Kettering Learning Lab
- Eastwood MetroPark (2): shelter area near playground and Eastwood Lake boat parking lot
- Englewood MetroPark (4): Patty’s shelter area and Patty Hollow Camp (East Park), West Park parking lot, and Prairie View Camp (South Park)
- Germantown MetroPark (5): park overlook (7101 Conservancy Rd.), Oak Ridge backcountry campsite (7080 Boomershine Rd.), Old Mill campsite (7200 Old Mill Rd.), Cedar Ridge backcountry campsite (7501 Stivers Rd.) and Shimps Hollow front country campsite (7350 Boomershine Rd.)
- Hills & Dales MetroPark (4): two restrooms open at both the Paw Paw shelter (2471 Deep Hollow Rd.) and at White Oak (2606 Hilton Dr.)
- Huffman MetroPark (2): park outlook and MetroParks Mountain Biking Area (MoMBA)
- Island MetroPark (1): restrooms near front entrance and playground
- Possum Creek MetroPark (4): pond parking lot, Argonne Forest parking lot, Argonne Lake and Farm

PLAY SAFE
- To protect everyone’s health and safety, MetroParks asks families using playgrounds and nature play areas to:
- Wait patiently for a few kids to leave before joining if more than 10 kids are using the playground.
- Stay six feet (or at least an adult arm’s length) away from others.
- Cover your mouth and nose with your elbow or a tissue when coughing or sneezing, then throw the tissue in the trash and wash your hands.
- Wash hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds (“Happy Birthday” song from beginning to end twice).
- Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth with unwashed hands.
- Avoid sharing food, water bottles, utensils or cups.
- Stay home if you have a fever (above 100.4), coughing or shortness of breath, fatigue, sore throat, congestion or runny nose, nausea or vomiting, or are otherwise unwell.
- Bring disinfecting wipes to clean hands before and after play.
CAMPGROUNDS
Campsite reservations are required. Campers will need to adhere to new health and safety restrictions, which can be found in the Camp Safe Order. The following campsites will be open to reservations for household units of 10 people or less, regardless of the capacity of the campsite.
- Englewood MetroPark, two front country sites available
- Possum Creek MetroPark, one front country site available
- Germantown MetroPark, two front country sites and two backcountry sites
- Twin Creek MetroPark, three front country sites and one backcountry site
