I'm five weeks from the Flying Pig in Cincinnati, and the cold weather can really put a chill on my running schedule. Whether you're training for something big, or you're a first time racer, here are some runs you should consider.

April 6
Make A Difference, Save a Life 5K sponsored by Suicide Prevention Center will take place in Dayton. 10:00am race start. Benefits the Suicide Prevention Center. VA Medical Center, Building 305. For more information, go to http://www.keysports.net/events.php

Project Congo 5K Takes place in Dayton. 9:00am race start. Wegerzyn Gardens MetroPark, Siebenthaler Ave. Dayton, Ohio. A lot of fun things will be going on at this event: Speakers, Dancers and Music. Please bring old cell phones to donate. For more information visit www.projectcongo.org

The Ohio River Road Runners Marathon and Half Marathon takes place in Xenia. All events start and finish at Xenia YMCA. Half Marathons can be expensive, but with a registration of $25 and $50 it's a low-cost course that's also a Boston Marathon qualifier. For more, go to http://www.orrrc.org/

B Positive…It's not just a Blood Type 5K Run/Walk takes place in Kettering. 8:00am race start. Hosted by the Friends of Kettering Fairmont Softball.
