The 2021 Eichelberger Concert Season at the Levitt Pavilion Dayton begins this Saturday, June 12th at 7 PM with the New Orleans trumpet player, Shamarr Allen.

New Orleans trumpet player, Shamarr AllenHailing from the Lower 9th Ward of New Orleans, Allen has influences in jazz, hip-hop, rock, funk rhythms, blues and country. He is the lead vocalist and trumpeter of his band “Shamarr Allen & The Underdawgs.” In addition to performing with his band, Allen has collaborated with many renowned artists around the world such as Willie Nelson, Patti LaBelle, Galatic, Harrick Connick Jr, and Lenny Kravitz, to name a few. He is a sought-after artist for festivals and venues around the world. In addition to displaying his skills on the front-line as a lead performer, Allen is also a music composer, writer, and producer. With a scintillating and unique sound, look, and exemplary talents, Shamarr Allen transcends musical boundaries. He is the True Orleans experience.

All concerts begin at 7PM*. All concerts are free, and guests are invited to bring picnic blankets, chairs, food, and beverages.

This year, local favorite Smokin’ BBQ will be on the lawn at every concert offering audiences a more permanent food option. Outside food and drink is still permitted and other vendors will be onsite at select concerts as well.

In the interest of safety, the Friends of Levitt Pavilion Dayton wants to meet everyone where they are in this ever-changing environment. They have installed touchless restrooms and will provide hand sanitizing stations around the park. Social distancing circles will be painted in a few rows at the back of the lawn for anyone who would like the space.

*On June 19, the Levitt Dayton is hosting a Juneteenth concert with opening ceremonies from 5-7PM.
