Having never had Lebanese food, I was excited to join Lisa of Dayton Local for lunch at Cedarland Bakery & Restaurant to finally try some Lebanese cuisine.
Since I was already excited to try it, I was even more excited when we realized that they have a buffet on Saturdays starting at 2:00pm! For $13, we had all we could eat of every imaginable Lebanese dish (not that I had imagined them before, of course) and it was amazing getting to try so many new things all at once.
They were nice enough to help me locate all of the dishes that were vegetarian friendly, but even if they are too busy to show you each item one by one, the cards are marked with "veg" on the dishes that are made without meat. I love when restaurants go the extra mile to be accommodating!
Everything tasted amazing from the lentil soup and hummus to the rice dishes, falafel, and dessert. Lisa and I had a great time trying everything and then comparing notes. I should have written all of the names of the dishes down on paper because many of the items in their repertoire are not on their menu.
If you are familiar with Lebanese food, you can pretty much call out anything that you like and they can make it for you. However, if you are new to Lebanese cuisine like I am, definitely start with the buffet so you can find your favorites. With that being said, the sandwiches on their menu are delicious - I brought home a shawarma chicken sandwich for my husband and he wanted to drive back over there to get another one!
If you're looking for a friendly, delicious restaurant that offers something you may not have tried before, you should definitely stop by Cedarland Bakery & Restaurant.
