How My Favorite Color Became Green
It was always pink. Pink bedspread. Pink pillows. Pink rugs. Pink walls.
In fact, the only thing in my childhood bedroom that wasnt pink was the carpeting. And it was green?!?!
I think I came to hate it sometime around junior high. I mean really hate it. Like to the point where I couldn't even stand to dress Makenna in pink when she came along 20+ years later.
I am not sure how it came to be 'the color' of my room. But it was and for a long time.
Thankfully, Makenna never liked the color either. She's a big fan of orange. She's also a big fan of having her room plastered with her favorite movie posters. And don't get her started on how much she loves her chalkboard wall.
I hope that some day she's not looking back on this post and saying, "Ooohhh! That's why I always had orange in my room. No wonder I hate it so much."
At any rate, my favorite color now is green, like the carpet. Funny, huh?
