Scene75 Dayton, which has been closed to the public since the Memorial Day 2019 tornadoes, is marching ahead with plans to reopen this fall, complete with a brand new roller coaster ride.
Photos shared by the entertainment center yesterday revealed the new ride under construction.
"You're seeing the FIRST peek at the entirely new addition of Scene75 Dayton." the post read. "Feast your eyes on the first of one of our many new crown jewels within it ... Tsunami the roller coaster!!"
In addition to the new roller coaster attraction, Scene75 is expanding the indoor golf course with a tropical theme including waterfalls, and adding a banquet center called "The Grand Scene".
To make room for all this, the center is expanding into about 40,000-square-feet of previously unused space. When they reopen, Scene75’s total square footage will be around 164,000—making it one of the largest indoor entertainment centers in the country.
Tornado damage to the indoor entertainment center last year prompted founder and CEO Jonah Sandler to take the opportunity to remodel and improve the facility. Initial plans to reopen this Summer were put back when the pandemic halted rebuilding efforts. Scene75 now hopes to reopen this fall "Bigger, Better, Stronger".
