Brush Up on Your Painting with Paintbrush Pottery in Springboro!
Today I had the pleasure of driving into Springboro and walking into Paintbrush Pottery to chat with Lee Mershad, daughter of owner Linda Mershad. I was amazed at what I saw when I walked in the door, with a supply of bisque in all varieties from floor to ceiling, and a variety of paint colors that any artist would give their right brush stroke for. The great thing about this Paintbrush Pottery is that it's great for kids big and small, short and tall.
Linda Mershad purchased the business when it was a pottery store prior to the opening of Paintbrush Pottery. At the time that Linda purchased it, the goal was to grow it into a happening place with various streams of activities like:
- Corporate Team Building Sessions
- Birthday Parties
- Special Event Nights
- Community Involvement
- Classes, and more!
Linda Mershad did just that, and with the help of her daughter Lee Mershad, who manages the shop, it is buzzing with lots of activity. What keeps Paintbrush Pottery so busy? Lee Mershad says, "It's all about the bisque!"
I knew exactly what she meant after trying to paint bisque myself from other stores I had purchased from in the past. Lee explained to me that bisque can have what is known as "hot spots", meaning that no matter how much you paint over your pieces, it will still show through or rub off like chalk dust.
Lee Mershad wants you to know that Paintbrush Pottery only carries the highest quality bisque, so that you don't end up with the frustration of painting over these hot spots, leaving you with a piece of pottery that looks unfinished.
The Mershad's being a family owned and operated business, firmly believe that the quality and customer service are off the utmost importance, which is why they strive to provide you with the very best in pottery painting, hands down!
Now that summer is approaching and schools are about to come to a close, you should know that every Monday there is a summer camp available for your kids at Paintbrush Pottery. The camps run July 14th through August 6th, so your kids can spend time doing something fun and creative while making new friends!
This is a great alternative for those who have used expensive sleep over camps away from home. Why not encourage your child to get creative and experience something new this summer? These camps will be themed including the Angry Birds Camp and the Snack Attack Camp.
If you have any doubt how great Paintbrush Pottery is with kids, just know that they cater to daycares and Goddard School often brings a bus full of kids over for painting which spells delight! Can you see the excitement on the children's faces as they paint pottery for their parents for Mother's and Father's Day? Yes, it happens all of the time!
Paintbrush Pottery also has a history for getting involved with the community, doing festivals with Dayton Christian School, Momtopia at the Dayton Mall 3 to 4 times a year and they also paint Christmas ornaments for the Dayton Mall each year. There is another even that Paintbrush Pottery will be painting for, but it won't be the holidays! That will be announced when it comes up, so keep checking for that too!
Paintbrush Pottery has so much to offer for big kids and little kids, including gift certificates, DIVA Night for a girl's night out, and again birthday parties for young and old!
Be sure to check out Lee Mershad's own line of pottery called Lizard Creations. The big kids will absolutely love this stunning line of designer pottery in fantastic colors and designs for any home. I was already picking out what I would like for when my husband and I move!
If you are looking for something to do with the kids or on your own, be sure to come out to Paintbrush Pottery in the Springboro Pointe Plaza, adjacent to Liberty Gold & Coin and Rooster's!
It will be a lot of fun whether it's a rainy day, a girl's night out during the week, or even on the weekend. You can check out the website to learn more about the Mershad's business, as well as get more information about the upcoming events.
You can contact Linda or Lee Mershad at the shop by calling 937-748-8707 should you have questions or would like to go ahead and book your next party. Thanks for stopping by Dayton Local, and be sure to check out Paintbrush Pottery!
