More than just her talents. Lynne Wintersteller believes that some divine intervention earned her the role of Mother Superior in the national tour of 'Sister Act,' which is at the Schuster Center, January 28-February 2. The presence of a higher power helps guide her through every performance to make it a heavenly experience for the audience. "When my character talks to God in the show, I really am talking to Him," said Wintersteller.

Based on the hit movie, 'Sister Act' is a family-friendly comedy/musical about a disco diva (Deloris Van Cartier), who witnesses a murder and to protect her identity is placed in a convent. Her personality collides with the uptight Mother Superior resulting in much hilarity. Featured is ll original score by multi- Academy, Grammy, and Golden Globe Award winning composer Alan Menken (Little Shop of Horrors, Beauty and the Beast, Little Mermaid and Enchanted).

From Sandusky, OH; Wintersteller attended a Catholic school and is reminded by Mother Superior of the teachers she had. The daily transformation into her character takes minimal effort as Wintersteller shares the same sense of spirit and rules to live by. It's a case of art imitating life as for a time, Wintersteller considered entering the convent. "In the seventh grade I seriously thought about being a nun, but that fell through in the eighth grade as soon as I discovered boys," she laughed.

A gifted singer, Wintersteller has never taken a voice lesson, but has learned through her ear and mimicking. She grew up in a home where music always played and she quickly picked up on it. Her voice has earned her a number of accolades such as the Outstanding Individual Performance Award at the New York Musical Theatre Festival last year for 'Castle Walk.' Her television credits include, 'Law & Order: Criminal Intent,' 'Chappelle's Show,' and 'Big Brother Jake.'

However, enduring the performance of any theatrical production does require the proper training, They must get a proper amount of rest, eat right, conserve their voice and perform vocal exercises.

"We must treat ourselves like a professional athlete during the day," she said.

In front of many of her family and friends as Wintersteller returns to her home state of Ohio, she will be at her best as 'Sister Act' runs at the Schuster Center on January 28 through February 2.

Audiences are guaranteed to fall to their knee's, not in prayer, but in laughter. Tickets are on sale at the Ticket Center Stage Box Office, by phone at 937-228-3630, 888-228-3630 or online at ticketcenterstage.com.
