2024 Americana Festival Boasts More Vendors, Entertainment

The Centerville-Washington Township Americana Festival is all set to paint Ohio red, white, and blue once again! This year, the festival, known as the state's largest single-day event, welcomes Dayton Children's Hospital as its presenting sponsor.

The Americana Festival boasts a rich history, starting in 1972 as a simple neighborhood gathering. Today, it's a massive celebration of community spirit, family fun, and patriotism, attracting over 85,000 visitors annually. This year's festival promises to be bigger and better than ever.

Expect a spectacular fireworks display on July 3rd followed by a jam-packed day on the 4th. Over 200 arts and crafts vendors, a grand parade with 120+ units, and a whopping 75+ food trucks will transform Centerville into a festival wonderland. Live entertainment, a car show boasting 150 classic vehicles, a dedicated children's area, and a 5K run/walk round out the exciting offerings.

The 2024 theme, "Kind and Helpful Hands," honors local heroes Deputy Gary Fulwiler and Officer Tracy Sommers, who will serve as Grand Marshals.  This theme resonates deeply with the festival's new presenting sponsor, Dayton Children's Hospital. "The Americana Festival perfectly embodies creating lasting memories and fostering community," shared Deborah Feldman, president of the hospital. "We're proud to be part of this Centerville tradition."

What else?  This year, the auto show finds a new home on West Franklin Street, putting it closer to the main stage and food trucks. Families with young children will be happy to know the dedicated children's area, featuring a splash pad renovated with help from Dayton Children's, will be open later this year.
