For members of the Pride of Dayton Marching Band, today will surely have been a St. Patrick’s Day they will never forget. The University of Dayton band performed today at the St. Patrick’s Day Parade... in Dublin, Ireland!
The band performed "Victory", the University’s fight song, "Beautiful Day" by U2, and traditional Irish folk songs and from the video (below), it looks like they had a bloody good time!

The Pride of Dayton — affectionately known as "POD" — was selected through a competitive process to perform in the 2021 parade, however, it was rescheduled to 2022 due to the pandemic.
The parade in Dublin is the largest in Ireland, and the central event of the city’s five-day St. Patrick’s Festival, celebrating Ireland’s patron saint. The parade regularly draws up to 500,000 spectators along its 2-mile route and features international marching bands, colorful floats and costumed revelers.
The band will also perform a concert in the courtyard of Kilkenny Castle this Saturday, before heading home. The second video below was made last year as a way to celebrate with the people of Kilkenny virtually.
