Harvest on Main returns to downtown Xenia Saturday, October 8

Fall fun will be in full supply as the City of Xenia will once again host its Harvest on Main event in downtown.

This will be the second year for the event, which be expanding its footprint to include more than Main Street. This year, Main Street will be closed from King Street to Whiteman Street, while Detroit Street will be closed from Church Street to Second Street. The new layout will allow for families to easily and safely walk through the event.

Harvest on Main will be held Saturday, October 8, from 12 p.m. - 5 p.m. Anyone looking to get a jumpstart on their holiday shopping will want to head to East Main Street where they will find an outdoor craft show featuring local artisans. The show is once again being coordinated by Flour Bake Shop. Along West Main Street you will find a variety of food trucks, a farmer's market, and a straw maze for kids to enjoy. North Detroit Street will have kids' activities, a small petting zoo, and a special display of vehicles from the Old Timers Club. At the intersection of Main and Detroit Streets, you won't want to miss the pie eating contest that will take place at 3 p.m. If you and your kids want to dress in costume, you'll fit right in along South Detroit Street where Route 68 Toys will be hosting the Halloween "Monster Bash" with vendors, displays, and characters.

The “Monster Bash” portion of the event will remain open after Harvest on Main concludes so folks can enjoy some Halloween fun in conjunction with Xenia's Oktoberfest event in front of Devil Wind Brewing. Oktoberfest will begin at 12 p.m. and will feature live music, fun, and food trucks until 10 p.m. "We were very pleased with the turnout for our inaugural event in 2021 and hope for the same this year," said Christina Schaefer, Public Relations Coordinator. "Combining the two events will offer traditional fall family fun and a relaxing day packed with live music."
