Don't call 911 to ask about the stay-at-home order!
Montgomery County Sheriff Rob Streck is reminding people that it's not appropriate to call 911 to ask about the stay-at-home order, which goes into effect statewide tonight.
"We understand the public’s concerns and need for information to help protect yourself and loved ones," Streck said. "However, we’d like to remind the public that 9-1-1 should only be used in the case of an emergency to ensure that those who need immediate, life-saving help can get the attention they need without delay."
Dayton is not alone. Columbus police tweeted that they were also receiving calls related to "non-emergency inquiries about Ohio’s stay-at-home order." with a friendly reminder: "911 for crimes/imminent danger."
