Dayton Region Home To 5 Of Ohio's Safest Cities
An article by John Roskelley, published this week by the SafeWise Report ranks Springboro, Centerville, Kettering, Beavercreek and Vandalia in the "The 50 Safest Cities in Ohio".
"Home to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum, the Pro Football Hall of Fame, and 262 miles of Lake Erie shoreline, Ohio offers its over 11 million residents a great place to call home."
We're surprised that Roskelley didn't mention the National Museum of the United States Air Force in his opening statement, but we'll let that slide! Here are the highlights:
Springboro: Roskelley notes that Springboro was recently ranked the 42nd best place to live in America by “Money Magazine”; has a per capita income is the highest in southwest Ohio, and a low crime rate.
Centerville: Paying tribute to the Washington Centerville Public Library for it's nationally recognized for its excellent community programs, Roskelley also attributes the high level of community involvement plays a big role in the low crime rates in Centerville.
Kettering: "Kettering is a great place for families of all ages". We would have to agree! The Kettering City School District receiving a rating of Excellent with Distinction, and the cities extraordinary low crime rates for a city pushing 60,000 are reasons given for this suburb making the list.
Beavercreek: Home to many research and development companies, Roskelley writes that the City of Beavercreek's focus on public safety and education, economic stability, and upward mobility played a significant role in being named to the “Money Magazine” Top 100 Places to Live in America.
Vandalia: Citing the Star Spangled Celebration and the Dayton Air Show amongst other festivals, Roskelley says you’ll be hard pressed to find a better place to call home than Vandalia, also noting the city's 25 parks and low crime rates.
