City of Centerville announces Veterans Memorial expansion at Stubbs Park
The City of Centerville will expand the Stubbs Park Veterans Memorial Plaza to honor veterans of the Global War on Terror and the United States Space Force. The announcement coincides with the relocation of this year's Memorial Day Ceremony due to renovations at Stubbs Park.
The expansion will include a new U.S. Space Force monument featuring a custom-designed bronze disk. A public call for artist submissions will be announced soon. Additionally, the existing memorial will be converted into a walkable space with an expanded brick walkway and engravings on its backside to honor service in the Global War on Terror.
The project also includes a new lectern detailing the memorial's history and significance.
