Call for Art: 30th Annual Art Auction
All area artists are invited to donate one original work of art. Artists do not have to be Members of The Co to participate. The organization is committed to presenting a range of media and styles for a variety of prices from both emerging and established artists—therefore, The Co seeks original work of the highest quality, structural integrity, frame/display quality and condition, and appropriate market value. For these reasons, The Co reserves the right to jury artwork according to these merits.
This years’ theme is Pearls. As the 2024 Art Auction will be The Co’s 30th, the pearl is the traditional 30th anniversary gem. The interpretation of the pearl can be manifested by artists in whatever form they choose or not at all. Besides the pearl as an object, there are references to the pearl / pearls in literature, poetry, famous quotations, works of art, music, etc., that may also serve as influences. Additionally, pearl will be will be reflected in the event décor and the Co will encourage event-goers to wear white and/or pearls.
Donated Artworks must be original (no reproductions), clean, dry, and ready to hang (hardware must be included). The Co encourages the donation of works created in the last three years and for work to be presented with clean, neutral matting and with unadorned, neutral framing. No sawtooth hangers, or poster frames will be accepted. We recommend Custom Frame Serves (downtown Dayton) for advice and fair pricing to donating artists.
Artists who donate would receive the following:
- two, NON-TRANSFERRABLE tickets to the Annual Art Auction
- a professional, high-resolution digital image of work for portfolio
- inclusion in print (mailing and distribution to 4,000) and digital marketing and promotional materials
