A Yule Evening: Dinner & Ball
Join us in the Temple for an evening to celebrate Yule, a holiday that coincides with the Winter Solstice, a welcoming back of the Sun. This is the longest night of the year, the darkest moment before the light. After this date the world literally begins to shift and the Sun’s position in the sky allows it to stay longer and longer in an ode to welcome back spring.
Dress in your snazziest gown or sharpest suit! Or sweatpants, we don’t care ;)
We will:
-Dine by candlelight and enjoy hearty meals sure to fill up the soul (and your belly!) You are welcome to bring a vegetarian side dish, dessert and/or beverage.
-Share stories in circle
-Dress up to celebrate season and the returning of the Sun
-Light the fire of our manifestations with spellwork
-Create your own citrus sun catcher
-Dance
-Rebuild our seasonal altar in our shared altar room
*Please bring something for the altar. You are welcome to take the altar item home when we dismantle the altar at the end of the season, or you can leave your item as a gift for the temple.
Yule is a cross-quarter seasonal celebration according to the Celtic wheel of the year. Join us all year long to celebrate the festivals of Imbolc, Ostara, Litha, Beltane, Mabon, Lughnasadh, and Samhain.
Each festival is in honor of an important aspect of the season, and for Yule it is the return of the sun and the promise of warmer days ahead!
While we will be providing several food dishes to serve, you are welcome to bring a vegetarian side dish, dessert and/or beverage.
Coffee, water, tea and wine provided.
Whether you are in or out of the Broom Closet, this gathering is for you!
