4 Paws 5K and *new* Path to Placement Walk

Race Info

The 4 Paws 5K and *NEW* Path to Placement Walk will be held at the Fairgrounds Recreation Center in Xenia, Ohio on Saturday, July 20, 2024. After the race, come tour the 4 Paws campus; just a five-minute drive away!

This is a dog-friendly event; dogs must be fully vaccinated, on a leash, and be able to behave well around other dogs.

This year's 5K course will start outside the fairgrounds and use the paved, shaded, Creekside Trail across the road. The course is an out-and-back route and participants may run or walk during the event.

*NEW THIS YEAR* Path to Placement Walk

Enjoy a looping walk while learning about what it takes 4 Paws to breed, raise, train, and place a service dog. Also, enjoy dog-related activities along the loop! The Path to Placement Walk is flat, half gravel, half paved, and almost a mile long. The loop is children, dog, wheelchair, and stroller-friendly. 5K participants may enjoy the Path the Placement Walk included in their registration.

7am - Registration and packet pick-up opens

8am - 5K start

9am - Path to Placement Walk begins

9:30am- 5K Awards

10am - Tours at 4 Paws (*Sign up required)

$30 - Early Bird Now through June 16 (race shirt, finisher medal, custom race bib guaranteed)

$35 - June 17 through July 1 (race shirt and finisher medal guaranteed)

$40 - July 2 to race day (standard race bib only)

Virtual option

Want to support the race but are not able to attend in person? Register for the virtual option by July 1 and pick up your race items at 4 Paws on July 19 or choose to have them mailed to you. Cost for shipping and handling will be $5. Items will be mailed out by July 15 but not guaranteed to arrive by July 20

Packet pickup

Packet pickup for the 4 Paws 5K and Path to Placement Walk has been scheduled for Friday, July 19 from 8am-5pm at 4 Paws for Ability. You can also pick up your packet on race morning beginning at 7am at the Fairgrounds Recreation Center.

Name a Puppy!

Here's how:

1. Register for the event here

2. Between now and race day, share your 5K fundraising page on social media, or go to the "Fundraising" tab on the race website above and ask your friends and family to select your name to make a donation to 4 Paws.

3. This fall, a litter of pups will be born and named the "5K Litter." Each pup will get its name from the top individual fundraisers. Depending on the number of puppies born in the litter will depend on how many fundraisers will have a chance to name one! For example, eight puppies in the litter? The top eight fundraisers will each get to name a pup!

The more you raise, the better your chances are to name a puppy.

Medals

Those registered for the 5K before July 2 will receive a 4 Paws 5K 2024 finisher medal. Winners' plaques will be awarded for the fastest male and female in age divisions 11 and under, 12-15, 16-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70+.

No refunds! Shirts and medals will not be mailed (unless paid for during registration) or available for pick up beyond the date of the race.
