Oktoberfest at Dayton Art Institute
Oktoberfest 2024
Oktoberfest will return for its 53rd anniversary in 2024, taking place September 27-29 on the museum grounds!
A Dayton tradition since 1972, Oktoberfest includes artisans, unique international foods, one of the best selections of domestic, international and craft beers in the area, family-friendly art activities, live music, a Weingarten with a variety of international wines, and much more! Oktoberfest includes a fully covered main stage viewing area, an expanded craft beer tent with big-screen TVs for all of the weekend’s football action, and live music on two stages throughout the weekend.
NEW IN 2024! Festival attendees can test their strength at DAI’s Oktoberfest celebration’s Steinholding Competition on Sunday, September 29, at 2 p.m. (Registration Required, Free w/ valid admission) Masskrugstemmen, or beer Steinholding, is a traditional Bavarian strength contest in which competitors hold a full one-liter beer stein (or Masskrug in German) out in front of their bodies with a straight arm parallel to the ground as long as possible. The winner is the last person holding with good form.
