Springboro's Quakers & the Underground Railroad - canceled
In an effort to continue to fill the summer with free, family friendly activities, the Springboro Area Historical Society will present 30-minute presentations on Springboro's Quakers & the Underground Railroad. Slated for Saturday, July 29 with 2 scheduled presentations at 11:30 and 1:30, this activity is open to the public and appropriate for families with children 8 and older.
What Attendees will Gain From this Presentation . . .
- Learn about Quakers and their role as an early social justice system.
- Understand how Springboro's Quakers played a key role in the Underground Railroad.
- Extend this knowledge to all Springboro residents - white and black, Quaker and non-Quaker - who aided an estimated 1,000 to 4,000 freedom seekers in their quest to Canada.
No RSVP is required. Simply arrive at the museum - 110 S. Main St. - 5 minutes before the start time. Hope to see you there!
