Above the Fold: New Expressions in Origami
The 2018 special exhibition season begins with Above the Fold: New Expressions in Origami, on view February 17 - May 13, 2018.
Above the Fold demonstrates the extraordinary power and potential of contemporary origami. In the hands of nine international artists, what was once considered a children’s craft becomes a sophisticated global art form. Above the Fold is the first traveling exhibition to bring origami installations from around the world to North American audiences.
A number of related programs are planned in conjunction with the exhibition, including a workshop and talk by featured artist Dr. Robert Lang on April 21. Scheduled programs include:

- Draw from the Collection: Introduction to Modular Origami Polyhedra with Dr. Robert Lang, April 21, 12–2 p.m.
- Artist Talk by Dr. Robert Lang: From Flapping Birds to Space Telescopes: The Modern World of Origami, April 21, 3–4 p.m.
- Film Screening: Between the Folds, May 5, 1–2 p.m.
Above the Fold is curated by Meher McArthur and the tour is organized by International Arts & Artists, Washington, D.C.
