Watch the gourds fly at the Annual Pumpkin Chuck Dayton
Calling all families! The annual Pumpkin Chuck will take place on Saturday, 19th October, 2024. This popular fall event will be held on the flight line behind the National Museum of the United States Air Force. (Use the entrance at the Spinning Road gate on Airway - 5901 Airway Road, Riverside OH 45431).
Food Trucks + STEM Activities + Live Music + Flying Pumpkins!
The annual EZ Pumpkin Chuck, put on by AFLCMC/EN-EZ at WPAFB, is a USAF engineering event designed to attract, inspire, and build on Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) skills with students in order to develop our nation’s future scientific and technical workforce in areas such as aviation, aerospace, and defense.
Family-friendly fun includes:
- Hands-on STEM activities to spark your kids' curiosity
- Families can Launch Pumpkins for $5 per shot! (Class C Machine)
- Delicious food trucks to satisfy every craving
- Live music to get everyone grooving
- Amazing vendors with unique finds
- Best of all? It's Free Admission to this Event!
This event will have teams from engineers, students, and hobbyists building trebuchets or catapults to launch pumpkins for distance and accuracy competitions. This event is open to the public and all are welcome to take part in the festivities by building one of these historic chucker machines, baking a scrumptious pumpkin pie, or just coming out to enjoy some good food, homemade pumpkin pie, and watch the gourds fly!
