Passport to MetroParks at Riverscape May 24
Five Rivers MetroParks will host Passport to MetroParks on First Friday, May 24, from 6 to 9 p.m. at RiverScape MetroPark, 237 E. Monument Ave.
Live music with The Luv Locz Experiment, food trucks, family activities and more will be part of the free event that includes a sneak peak of some of Dayton’s largest cultural festivals.
Representatives from the Dayton Celtic Festival, Hispanic Heritage Festival (PACO - The Puerto Rican, American and Caribbean Organization) and The Dayton African American Cultural Festival (DAACF) will be on site with activities, information about the festivals and more.
Throughout the event, guests can visit more than a dozen hosting games and activities that feature the upcoming festivals and a variety of the recreation, education, conservation and volunteer programs Five Rivers MetroParks offers. Activities include:
- Meet MetroParks’ rangers and live animal ambassadors.
- Learn more about upcoming programs, events, and things to do in each MetroPark and at the 2nd Street Market.
- Ask MetroParks staff and volunteer experts questions about nature, recreation activities, youth programs and more.
- Register for upcoming programs.
Participants will earn a stamp in their event passport for each activity they complete. Those who earn one stamp in each of five categories will be entered to win prizes. Fill your passport with more stamps for the chance to win additional prizes.
“There’s so much to do in your MetroParks, especially during the warm-weather seasons, and we view Passport to MetroParks as our official summer kick off,” said RiverScape program coordinator Rachel Baney. “Anything you want to learn more about or try this summer, from camping to gardening, a MetroParks expert can help you get started at the event”
