Miamisburg Veterans Day Program
American Legion Post 165 and the Miamisburg Historical Society Veterans Committees will conduct their annual Veterans Day ceremony at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, November 11, 2024 in Veterans Memorial Park, 426 E. Central Avenue. The 2024 theme is "A Legacy of Loyalty and Service". Post Commander John Heinrich will emcee the ceremony which will include an address by Mayor Michelle Collins, patriotic remarks by Steven Johnson, Fire Chief, Miami Valley Fire District and patriotic music by the Miamisburg Alumni Band with vocalist Alberta Duncan of Post 165 and Pipe Major Kevin Brown.
Afterward, a special Veterans Day Open House from 12:00 to 3:00pm will honor the sponsors and honorees of the Military Tribute Banner program at the Miamisburg History Center, 35 S. 5th Street, Miamisburg, Ohio. The banners are displayed in Veterans Memorial Park from Memorial Day until Veterans Day, and more are exhibited in the Veterans Gallery inside the History Center all year round. Veterans are invited to join in the Open House reception, Monday, November 11, 2024 immediately following the Veterans Park Ceremony. Refreshments will be served. In case of bad weather, the Veterans Day ceremony will be held at Miamisburg American Legion Post 165, 35 N. Main St., Miamisburg, Ohio, and the Open House will remain at the Miamisburg History Center.
