Guided Underground Railroad Tours

Between 1815 and 1864, Springboro was considered one of Ohio’s busiest stops on the Underground Railroad . In fact, the Springboro area community is nationally recognized as a Historic Underground Railroad Site. As home to 27 documented safe houses, more than any other Ohio community, the Springboro Area Historical Society offers guided walking tours of many of these sites still located within historic downtown Springboro. Join us to learn more about our area’s significant impact in helping enslaved individuals reach freedom.  Tours are available at 11:30 and 1:30 on July 15, and at 4 pm on July 16.

Springboro Area Historical Society - The Springboro Area Historical Society was started in 1992 with a charter of Preserving Yesterday for Tomorrow while highlighting our community's valuable participation in the Underground Railroad.
