Great Council State Park Talk
The Bellbrook Historical Society will host its second meeting of the 2022/2023 Lectures Series on Monday, October 17th, 2022 with a talk on the Great Council State Park. Ann Schweitzer and Talon Silverhorn of the Ohio Department of Natural Resources will discuss the background and plans for Ohio’s newest state park which will be in Xenia with a planned completion date in 2023. This 12,000 square foot interpretive center will be located near the site of Old Chillicothe (Oldtown) and will explore the lives of the Shawnee who lived in the area as well as notable contemporary settlers like Daniel Boone. There is no charge to attend the lecture which will last about one hour starting at 7pm and will take place at the Bellbrook Presbyterian Church located at 72 W Franklin St in downtown Bellbrook (45305). Parking and the entrance for the lectures are both located behind the church. Come and join us to explore the amazingly rich history of Greene County and our surrounding Dayton community.
