Join our 8th annual Dinner in the Desert Kitchen (DDK) art exhibition and fundraiser at The Hub ‘s Index Gallery on Friday, December 6th from 6-9pm! This year we are collaborating with Omega CDC and Gem City Market to create The People’s Bodega – a place where we investigate notions of belonging, celebrate the cuisine and culture of Puerto Rico, and simply keep on cookin’!

With this year’s University of Dayton-sponsored photo auction and art exhibition, students and community partners from Associate Professor Glenna Jennings’ Dr. Hsuan Tsen’s social practice art and sustainability classes continue a decade long trajectory of creative production, reflection and action around food justice. The People’s Bodega will feature new art works from DDK alums Mariamelia Miranda Pérez (’18) Jalisa Robinson (’16), Leigh Vukov (’17) and Madisson Ward (’17), alongside photography, graphic design and installation work by this year’s student team.

Come find a unique and unforgettable Holiday gift or grow your art collection! Keeping with tradition, every guest who brings us a non-perishable food item to support Food4Flyers will receive a small limited edition photograph. A number of emerging artist and student artworks will be up for auction, and over a hundred prints and ceramic pieces from past events will be for sale. All proceeds will benefit Gem City Market cooperative grocery store, a community-owned treasure that needs your help to keep putting healthy food on our tables!
