Dayton Peace Accords at 20 Conference

Untold stories of the Dayton Peace Accords negotiations, lessons learned from the negotiations and how they apply to other conflicts, predictions for the 30th anniversary of the accords and how the U.S. can be more effective in the region are among the topics current and former world leaders will gather to address during the Dayton Peace Accords at 20 Conference. Dayton Peace Accords fellows, students from Bosnia and Herzegovina studying at the University of Dayton this year, also will give their perspectives on their nation through the eyes of children born near the end of or after the war.

  • 3 p.m. - Dayton Implementation: Why Has the Transition from Dayton Been So Difficult?

  • SCREENING OF THE DIPLOMAT
  • 6-10 p.m. - David Holbrooke, son of Ambassador Richard Holbrooke and filmmaker of The Diplomat which chronicles the 50-year diplomatic career of his father, will lead a screening and discussion of the film at the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force. A public reception will precede the screening and discussion.

RECEPTION

6 p.m. - The Dayton Peace Accords at 20 committee will host a reception for the distinguished visitors at the Dayton Art Institute. A music video presentation by Michael and Sandy Bashaw and Dayton Peace Prize winners and recognition of 2015 Dayton Peace Prize awardee Angelina Jolie Pitt in absentia will be part of the reception.

Dayton Peace Accords at 20 Conference is taking place at University of Dayton River Campus, which is located at 1700 South Patterson Boulevard in Dayton. University of Dayton River Campus - The UD River Campus is the former NCR headquarters building, located across from Carillon Park.
