City-Wide High School Spoken Word Competition
Hosted by Metaphorically Speaking and presented in partnership with The Human Relations Council and Victoria Theatre Association, the City-Wide High School SPOKEN WORD COMPETITION is part of the Speak. Be Heard. Be Considered. series, a citywide poetry slam program for high school students (ages 14-18).
In an effort to reduce gun violence and improve police relations within the community, Speak. Be Heard. Be Considered. provides students with an opportunity to address community concerns and issues they find important – relevant to non-violence and peace. Ultimately, this series is designed to encourage students to think critically about their world and major issues impacting society locally and globally.
