Beavercreek 9/11 Memorial - Dayton
The Beavercreek 9/11 Memorial Park was dedicated ten years after the attacks on September 11, 2011. The park is located just southeast of the Beavercreek Station, near the intersection of Creekside Trail and North Fairfield Road. The centerpiece of the exhibit is a section of steel from the North Tower that was first struck on the morning of September 11, 2001.
The City of Beavercreek, in partnership with Beavercreek Township, Beavercreek City Schools and the Beavercreek Chamber of Commerce, accepted this remnant of the World Trade Center from the New York/New Jersey Port Authority. Two of Beavercreek firefighters who were part of Ohio Task Force One that participated in rescue operations immediately after the attack helped carefully transport back to Beavercreek.
This 23ft twisted steel from the World Trade Center in New York was located just above and to the left (between the 101st and 105th floors) of where American Airlines Flight 11 struck, and will stand forever in Beavercreek as part of the city’s memorial.
