Since 1989, St. Mary Development Corporation has created more than 4,800+ high-quality affordable housing units for low-income seniors allowing them to age-in-place as long as possible. Our apartments have transformed the lives of thousands of people in need, especially seniors. Once a senior becomes a resident, our St. Mary Connect program connects them to critical, life-enhancing services that help residents live independently while maintaining a high quality of life. Each property combats negative social determinants of health and impacts the economic stability of residents through affordable rents, energy efficiency, emergency financial assistance, and cost-effective resources and services. In 2023, 47% of the move-outs were from residents passing away or moving to a higher level of care and nearly 85% of residents reported they have a very good or somewhat good quality of life.
