Woodland Lights Holiday Lights Festival Canceled
Woodland Lights has been canceled this year due to COVID-19.  The annual lights festival at Countryside Park in Washington Township had been scheduled to open the day after Thanksgiving with restrictions but has now been canceled for the season.

Statement from Washington Township

As COVID-19 cases continue to rise, Washington Township has made the difficult decision to cancel Woodland Lights this year. The health and safety of our staff and residents is the number one priority for the township. "We have a responsibility to protect the health and safety of our community. Hosting a large scale event that has the ability to contribute to the community spread of COVID-19 amongst our residents would be irresponsible," says Sharon Lowry, Trustee President. "This was not an easy decision to make. We are extremely disappointed that we are unable to host the event as we know that it is a time honored tradition for so many people. But protecting our community is the absolute most important thing to us,” says Lowry. We owe a debt of gratitude to our sponsors for their unwavering support this year, despite the event being cancelled. In the coming weeks, we will highlight these sponsors and the important work that they do for our community.

In lieu of the community coming to Woodland Lights, the township will be bringing Woodland Lights to the community! Different locations throughout the township will be decorated and illuminated throughout the month of December. A driving map will be available on the township website so residents can tour the township and safely share in the light and joy of the holidays with their families.

Finally, we thank you all for your support and understanding during these challenging times. We will be back stronger than ever next year. Until then, let's continue sharing joy and kindness with each other throughout the holiday season.
