The 2020 World A'Fair Dayton International Festival scheduled for May 15-17, 2020 has now been canceled due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
A message on March 16 from the festival facebook page read as follows:
"Well, we waited as long as we possibly could to make a decision on the festival. At this time, the May festival will be canceled and we plan to reschedule for later this year. Please understand that our hands are tied at this time. We hope that all of you make sure to take care of yourselves first and your friends and neighbors. Stay healthy!"
It had been hoped that the event would be rescheduled for the weekend of October 16-18, but these plans have now been abandoned. A second post on April 29 confirmed the news with a simple statement:
"It is with extremely heavy hearts that we regret to inform you that the 2020 A World A'fair will not be happening."
The World A'Fair Dayton International Festival will return in the Spring of 2021.
