Benefit Concert | Ambrosia with John Ford Coley & Peter Beckett
Levitt Dayton will hold its first ticketed benefit concert on September 26th as a fundraiser to help support the annual free concert season. The benefit concert features Ambrosia with John Ford Coley and Peter Beckett “The Voice of Player”. Tickets begin at $45 and are sale now through Eventbrite at LevittDayton.org.
Each summer, the Levitt Pavilion Dayton presents at least 50 free family-friendly concerts with an expected reach annually to over 50,000 individuals of all ages and backgrounds in the Dayton region. While these concerts are free to the public, they are not free to produce. The Levitt Pavilion fundraises throughout the year in a variety of different ways. One of these ways being ticketed benefit concerts. Each free concert on average costs $7,000 to produce. This includes artist fees, state of the art sound and lighting equipment, professional production crew, and various operational costs. All proceeds from the benefit concert go directly to support the Levitt Pavilion’s mission of building community through music, one free concert at a time.
“We are very grateful to our generous sponsors and individual donors that help to make music accessible for all each summer at Levitt Dayton. While many non-profits do a variety of events, including galas or luncheons, to raise awareness and money, we thought a benefit concert would showcase what we do best,” said Lisa Wagner, Executive Director.
Between Ambrosia, John Ford Coley, and Peter Beckett they have a total of 26 top 10 songs including “How Much I Feel”, “Biggest Part of Me”, “I’d Really Love to See You Tonight”, and “Baby Come Back”. With three of the four original members intact plus the addition of Ken Stacey on acoustic guitar and lead vocals, Mary Harris on keys and vocals, and the Doug Jackson on electric guitar and vocals, Ambrosia is well into the recording of a new CD and continues to tour throughout the world.
In the event of rain, the concert will be moved to the Masonic Center.
