An Evening With Awadagin Pratt
Acclaimed pianist Awadagin Pratt joins the MVSO for a special event made possible through the generosity of Mr. Richard Shaffer and the Montgomery County Arts and Cultural District. Mr. Pratt will perform the 2nd and 3rd movements of Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No 1 and will also conduct the orchestra in Beethoven’s Coriolan Overture. Among his generation of concert artists, pianist Awadagin Pratt is acclaimed for his musical insight and intensely, involving performances in recital and with symphony orchestras.
The program will also feature soloists from the CSO/CCM Diversity Fellowship Program. This groundbreaking partnership program of the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra and the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music is open to exceptional young string players coming from populations that are historically underrepresented in classical music. Jordan Curry will perform the 3rd movement of the Sibelius Violin Concerto, Maximiliano Oppeltz chose the 1st movement of Haydn’s C Major Cello Concerto, and Jade McClellen performs the 1st movement of the Samuel Coleridge-Taylor Violin Concerto.
