Critical Mass-Style Bike Ride for Visibility on East 3rd Street
On Friday, September 20th, the community will gather for a critical mass-style bike ride down East 3rd Street to bring attention to the pressing need for a designated bike lane on this major corridor. This family-friendly event is open to all ages and skill levels, aimed at promoting safer streets and increasing visibility for cyclists in Dayton.
Participants will meet at West Social (1100 W. 3rd Street) at 5:00 p.m., with the ride kicking off at 5:30 p.m. The bike procession will head down to East 3rd Street, concluding at The Wedge block party, located near the intersection of East 3rd, Springfield Street, and Linden Avenue in the Historic Huffman neighborhood.
The block party will feature a pop up by Koji Burger and El Latino, games, and music, creating a vibrant atmosphere for community members to gather, celebrate, and discuss the future of their city.
“This ride is about raising awareness for the need of a bike lane on East 3rd Street,” said Adair Tudor. “We want to ensure that cyclists in Dayton can travel safely, and we’re hoping this ride will bring attention to the importance of bike-friendly streets.” The event organizers encourage families, local cyclists, and community members to come out and join the ride for a great cause.
Whether you're an avid cyclist or just looking for a fun, active way to support your community, this event is an opportunity to be part of the movement for safer streets.
