Dayton distillery produces hand sanitizer for the community
As supplies in grocery stores continue to dwindle, a distillery in the Oregon District has begun production of antiseptic hand sanitizer for the community.
The Belle of Dayton, which was founded by brothers Murphy, Mike and Tim LaSelle in 2013 is following a nationwide trend that has seen distilleries and breweries use their expertise to help fight coronavirus pandemic in their local communities.
"The U.S. FDA announced Friday that it will not take action against manufacturers that prepare hand sanitizer for consumers and health care professionals." the LaSelle Brothers posted on Facebook yesterday. "We have begun production on an antiseptic hand sanitizer for our community. We will keep everyone posted as we get more details."
The brothers have said the first batch of sanitizer may be donated to first responders and hospitals, and provided they have enough ingredients, a second batch may be distributed to the public for donations.
"We are all in this together!" the brothers posted.
We have just one word. Amazing!
