Kristen Key at Wiley's Comedy Joint

Mike Woody sits down with Kristin Key...

No, it’s not Ellen DeGeneres, it’s another hilarious female comic…Kristin Key, who will keep you laughing from the beginning of her set until the end. Her rapid-fire delivery, mixed with a blend of some of her original music puts Key in perfect tune with the world of comedy. Key was a contestant on Last Comic Standing, and if you are like me you recognize her from a scene on the commercials where she compared her naked body to Mr. Burns on The Simpsons.
Kristin Key will bare her comedic soul at Wiley’s Comedy Joint on May 13 & 14.

10 Questions With…Kristin Key

  1. You stood in line for seven hours to be a contestant on Last Comic Standing, what’s something you would stand in line for seven hours for now?
I would stand in line for seven hours for the chance to meet Dolly Parton. I would wait an extra twenty minutes to shake her hand…and an extra 45 for a hug.
  2. If you could have personally witnessed anything through history, what would you want to have seen?
I wish I could have personally been in the theater to see Star Wars Episode 4: A New Hope, the day it came out. That would have been epic.
  3. When was the last time you were nervous?
When the doctor told me to turn on my side and pull my knees up to my chest. I don’t want to talk about it.
  4. What is a television series you have seen?
    Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
  5. Your father was a preacher, but which of the Ten Commandments have you broken more often?
Two part answer. 1. I had to Google the Ten Commandments. It’ been a while. 2. I have lots of graven images, but I’m going to have to go with the whole Lord’s name in vain thing. I do that A LOT.
  6. If money was no object, what would you spend a whole day doing?
I’d have an intimate gathering on my private yacht in some remote location with crystal clear water and I’d swim off the hangover I had from the amazing wine I had bought the night before. Then I’d dry off and go back to crocheting.
  7. What’s been a nightmare experience on a date?
My love of cream based foods and my blatant disregard for my lactose intolerance never ends well…always worth it.
  8. What self-accomplishment are you most proud of?
The second time I came out of the closet. I did it way better the second time. Nailed it.
  9. If you could know the answer to any question, what would it be?
Why can’t we all just get along?
  10. How about a joke?
A chicken and an egg are laying in bed together. The chicken angrily rolls over, huffs, and says, “Well, that answers THAT question.”
