French Seam Pillowcases are a beautiful home sewing project that leaves you with a fantastic useable pillowcase with no raw edges! Just perfect seams so that it can be machine washed again and again!
This class will increase your sewing knowledge and terminology! You will learn fantastic finishing techniques that will take your sewing up a notch or two in the professionalism category!
Prerequisites: Get to Know Your Machine – Learn the Basics or Kids Learn to Sew
Skill Level: Beginner
What you will learn:
French Seams
“Burrito Roll” method to remove exposed seams
Seam Allowance
Trimming seams
Clipping Corners
Pivoting and turning
Pinning
These easy to make pillowcases are great for gifts, making your own accessories for your house and making to give to charity!
Ages: 10+
Max Students: 6
You must bring your sewing kit and supplies; we have a cute kit for sale!
Bring:
3/4 Yard quilt weight cotton – this will be the main body of the pillowcase (Prewashed)
1/4 Yard quilt weight cotton – contrast fabric for the band (Prewashed)
–if you don’t want to choose fabrics, we have this cute kit for sale!
Matching Thread – All-purpose polyester
Size 12 or 14 Sharps, Microtex or Universal Needle

Supplies provided by the instructor:
Sewing Machines (feel free to bring your machine if you would like) (if you are using my machine, please make sure to get class 15 size 10 bobbins for class)
Instructions for you to make these over and over again!
